Kalahari Resort Poconos

Kalahari Resort Poconos

Kalahari Resort in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania is home to the world’s largest water park.  The Nelson Family from Wisconsin took great time and care to curate this resort as if it were a museum. All of the artwork is keeping with the African theme and their daughter brought back pieces from locals in Africa to decorate the resort.

Where there are a lot of animals and artifacts it is important to note that none of the animals are real or taxidermies, they are all artwork recreations. And the tusks on the elephants are not ivory but wood painted white. They are very careful about this and very eco-friendly.

As you can see from this shot taken from the highway, this resort is like a small city.  My math could be off but it is at least 5-7 square miles in size, and they are building more. Once you are on the property you never really need to leave for any reason. Anything and everything you could want is here, so park the car and forget it.  They have indoor stores, boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.  For this reason we want to break it down by section, please be patient, there is a lot to cover in this magnificent resort but it is all good:
