1786  The first advertisement for ice cream made commercially appears in New York’s City Tavern

1880  General Mills wins 3 top medals for their flour, including the ‘Gold Medal’.

1953  The Supreme Court ruled that restaurants in the District of Columbia could not refuse to serve blacks.

2018  Chef, Journalist, Writer and Avid Traveler Anthony Bourdain dies in his hotel room in France.
