1770  Benjamin Franklin sends rhubarb seeds from London to a friend in Philadelphia.

1878  In Brooklyn, New York milk was delivered to homes in glass bottles for the first time over being dispensed from metal cans.

1917  France regulates the price of Gruyere cheese as a war rationing method.

1963  ‘Whisky A Go-Go’ opens in Los Angeles, the first disco in the USA.

2005  The 3rd case of mad cow disease is discovered in Canada, assumed to be from infected from use of banned contaminated feed.

2010  Dutch brewer Heineken acquired all of Femsa’s Mexican beer operations which includes Dos Equis, Sol and Tecate brand beers.
