1839  Indian tea becomes available in Britain. Until now, only Chinese tea was available, and very expensive. This drove down the price of tea and became Britain’s national drink.

1919  Restaurateur Milton Parker born. Know best as owner of  the Carnegie Deli in New York City from 1976 until his retirement in 2002.

1984  Wendy’s ‘Where’s the Beef?’ ad campaign began.
