Food is a very important part of drinking. The same way you don’t go out for a drive with no gas in the car, you don’t go out drinking on an empty stomach. Food slows the absorption of alcohol into your system. However, if your only goal is to get intoxicated quickly and pass out and/or get sick in less than an hour, by all means, drink up on an empty stomach. Just be sure you are at home and a full bottle of water and bathroom are close enough to crawl to once you awake.
