1741  Jean Etienne Bore born, inventor of the sugar granulating process  and founder of the sugar industry in Louisiana.

1822  French Scientist Louis Pasteur born, he developed Pasteurization and vaccines for anthrax, cholera and rabies.

1900  Carry Nation brings her campaign against alcohol to Wichita, Kansas where she smashes the bar at the elegant Carey Hotel.

1906  Inventor Benjamin Eisenstadt born, most famous for the artificial sweetener ‘Sweet ‘n Low’
