Ah, the Chocolate Martini, what a perfect cocktail that packs a punch. Its sweet, creamy, its like a milkshake only it has some hidden alcohol you really can’t taste so its a nice after-dinner drink when you don’t want to hit the booze hard. There are many ways to make this, but I find this to be the best. It’s harsher cousin would be chocolate liqueur and vodka, however, this one is simply a rum and chocolate based liqueur and Irish Cream. Add some crushed ice to shake with and you will have a wonderful creamy cold, lush cocktail. If you can find some Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate bitters, it will elevate this cocktail. When it comes to a Chocolate Martini, there really are no rules as long as it tastes like chocolate. Here is our version:
- 50ml Chocolate Liqueur
- 50ml Irish Cream
- Crushed ice
- 3 Dashes of Aztec Chocolate Bitters (Optional but adds so much flavor)
- Shaved hard dark chocolate garnish (optional but this adds to the ultimate presentation
- OPTIONAL: 20ml of vodka if you feel it needs a kick and/or to thin it out a bit, this is a thick drink!
- Shake all ingredients hard in a cocktail shaker and strain into a martini or coupe glass – garnish with chocolate!
